REDUCE. REUSE. RECYCLE.
Over the past 2 years we have developed our knowledge and skillset to enable us to evaluate areas within our business which can be improved, resulting in a lesser impact on the environment. Although we have already made some positive steps towards being a greener business, we are still at the beginning of our journey, a journey which will continue to adapt and evolve as the world around us does so.
As climate change impacts the world around us, as a market leading brand we want to be part of the solution, not the problem. Our mission is to make all areas within the business as sustainable as possible as the only future is a sustainable future.
We believe in the 3 R's. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

OUR PLANET
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) also known as Global Goals, are a set of 17 integrated and interrelated goals set out by The United Nations to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that humanity enjoys peace and prosperity by 2030.
Our ambition as a business is to implement strategies to align to as many of the SDG's as we can.
RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION & PRODUCTION
Our planet has provided us with an abundance of natural resources. Sustainable consumption and production (SDG 12) is about doing more and better with less. SDG 12 is meant to ensure good use of resources, improving energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and providing access to basic services and ensuring a better quality life for all. Lets take a look at what we do at PULSAR® to align with this.

PLASTIC KIMBLE
Since 2018 we have replaced over 5,000,000 single use plastic Kimble tags with a natural jute fibre which is fully compostable and made from a renewable source

PLASTIC BAG
Since Q3 of 2021 we have replaced over 1,000,000 single use plastic bags with our new fully recyclable bag made from 100% recycled plastics

BOX BANDING
In 2018 we removed all non recyclable plastic banding from our boxes when importing product from our partners worldwide. In 2022 we also replaced our tape to a recyclable tape to send boxes to customers out

SWING TAGS
Since 2019 we have saved 30+ tonnes of paper by removing all excessive swing tags from our products which could all be accessed digitally. All remaining swing tags are manufactured by FSC® certified paper

SILICA GEL
In Q4 of 2021 we began the process of replacing our plastic silica gel sachet with a natural clay silica gel sourced by Micro-Pak Ltd which is non toxic and 100% natural

PRIMA® ECO+ TAPE
At PULSAR® we recently swapped out our packing tape for PRIMA® Eco+ Tape.
PRIMA® Eco+ Tape
- Eco-friendly
- Made of 34% post-industrial BOPP film
- Core made from recycled cardboard
- PVC & solvent free
- -35% CO2 emissions Vs standard tape
All PULSAR® goods are now boxed up and sent out to customers with PRIMA® Eco+ Tape
LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT, HIGH PERFORMANCE

FSC® CERTIFIED PAPER
The paper and publishing industries rely on thriving forests to meet demand; global consumption of paper continues to grow. Although paper can be both biodegradable and easily recyclable, it can also be the product of deforestation or poor forestry practices if not sourced sustainably.
Through responsible management of forests, and verifying the use of recycled materials, the FSC® system can help secure a long-term, source of paper. FSC® can enable the paper and printing sectors to demonstrate their commitment to responsible forestry.
All PULSAR® swing tickets are made with FSC® certified paper.

OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
POSITIVE PLANET
As a business, PULSAR® has the goal of being the most sustainable business in our industry. We firmly believe it is possible to meet the needs of the business without compromising on our environmental impact. Over the past few years we have been working hard behind the scenes to reduce our carbon footprint.
To achieve our Carbon Neutral status, we have partnered with Positive Planet. We will be working through a 5-point plan.
1. Measure our Carbon Emisions
2. Reduce our Carbon Emissions
3. Offset our emissions
4. Certify
5. Engagement
Our break down:
Scope 1: 24,009kgCO2e
Scope 2: 7,314kgCO2e
Scope 3: 657,655kgCO2e
Total = 688,979kgCO2e

ELECTRIC CARS
At PULSAR®, we now have 6 FULLY electric company cars!
Electric cars produce less life cycle emissions than traditional cars and they are more energy efficient than internal combustion engine cars. Switching our external sales teams cars to Electric cars has helped protect our environment and helped reduce our carbon emissions.
At our head office we have installed electric chargers for these vehicles using 100% renewable energy.
SOLAR PANELS
Based at our head office we have installed 60 solar panels that produce up to 15 Kilowatts which powers the property as well as any company electric cars when connected.
Having solar panels, provides clean, renewable energy, giving us control over our electricity and also causes no greenhouse gases to be emitted after installation. All these steps contribute to us helping our environment and us becoming an even greener business.

LOGISTICS CARBON OFFSETTING
2020
Rimba Raya is the world's largest privately-funded orangutan sanctuary. Rimba Raya develops livelihood programmes in surrounding villages to provide education, employment and hope for the future.
The Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve is the first project to be validated by SDVISTA as contributing to all 17 SDG's. This is reason why we selected to be apart of this project.

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) verifies the percentage of recycled content and tracks it from the source to the final product.
Products certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) contain recycled content that has been (independently) verified at each stage of the supply chain, from the source to the final product. In addition, facilities from the source to final supplier have met social, environmental, and chemical requirements.
The purchase of Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified products demonstrates demand for recycled content and best processing practices in the supply chain. (TE-301-V1.3-2023.06.01, Appendix D)
PULSAR is Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified, Control Union Certifications, CB-CUC- 1224147. Only the products which are covered by a valid transaction certificate are Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified.

TEXTILES 2030
We’re delighted to announce that we are one of the pioneering signatories to Textiles
2030, the UK’s most ambitious voluntary agreement designed to limit the impact clothes
and home textiles have on climate change in line with the Paris Agreement and the UN
Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action.
Textiles 2030 uses a ‘ Target Measure Act’ approach to reduce the impact of fashion and
homewares products across the UK. Along with other signatories, we will set tough targets,
measure the impact of our products and track our progress on an individual basis, towards
national targets.
By 2030, we will reduce our combined greenhouse gas emissions in line with a 1.5
o C UN trajectory to reduce climate change reducing carbon impact by 50%, reducing the water footprint of products sold by 30% and following a roadmap to a more circular fashion
future. As a Partner Signatory, we will pursue a joint circularity leadership agenda,
following a circularity roadmap and collaborating with others across the textiles industry to
transform the sector. The roadmap will ensure products are made to be recyclable, more
products are acquired for re use, and more circular raw material than linear raw material is
in new products.
